Rickey was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, growing up in a large and loving family. As a young woman, she immigrated to the United States. She became an American citizen and settled permanently in the greater Los Angeles area, where she and her husband raised their two sons. She has been an active artist for the past 26 years, beginning as an oil painter, and now uses acrylics as her primary medium. Under the guidance of her teacher, Rassouli, Rickey became a Fusionartist six years ago, and is a founding member of Fusionart International. Her art has been on display in many galleries across California, including Gallery C in Hermosa Beach, James Gray Gallery in Santa Monica, Highway 111 Gallery in La Quinta, Pacific Art Center in West Los Angeles, and a solo exhibition at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage. In Arizona she has exhibited at the Tucson Museum of Art in combination with the composer Michael Hoppe. Rickey’s art has been featured on the “Bridging Heaven and Earth” television program and the just published book, “The Bridging Heaven and Earth International Art Project.” Rickey recently moved to Banning, California, where she lives with her husband, Richard.
